ePals

This week I had a colleague of mine to introduce me to ePals. It is an on-line community for meaningful learning. It is free and millions of educators and learners from around the world connect, collaborate and build community. It enhances learning through collaborative projects. This fall it is launching In2Books which is an ePals’ research-based curriculum-aligned eMentoring Program. In addition, it allows you to exchange ideas and questions with other teachers and learners whether they are down the block or around the world. It builds 21st century digital literacy and learning skills. ePals is especially committed to enabling academically rigorous educational opportunities for economically disadvantaged environments worldwide. I encourage you to explore it and let me know what you think.

I am familiar with epals, but I have never actually used it. Please post an entry when you use it and let us know how it is working.

Misty, wow, what an interesting site! Epals provides a web based platform that offers safe email and blogs for students and teachers. I really like the ability to connect with other classrooms around the world and be able to collaborate with other teachers and students! I would think this site would coninue to grow as more teachers find out about it!
Thanks for this one! Diane

Wow! This is a pretty neat resource! I really like how you can connect with various classes all over. I would love to get a couple of students involved in something like that.

Can you effectively implement the use of technology in the kindergarten classroom?
